In Religion Kindergarten have been learning about Lent.
During the 40 days of Lent we are finding ways we can show love to one another just like Jesus did.
Some of us have made special promises.
Purple is the colour of Lent.
We have special cloths for our prayer table.
Father Vincent also wears purple in mass.
We are also showing love to those who are less fortunate by bringing in some money to send to the poor countries to buy food and clean water.
Everyday we say special prayers.
Below are some photos of our prayer tables.
We are also learning that God loves us.
He has made us all unique and has given us many gifts.
We have read some stories from the bible and we know that God calls everyone by name.
Here is some of our work!
Enjoy your day
Kinder,
ReplyDeleteThank you for teaching us about Lent. It is a very special time when we remember Jesus. I look forward to reading more about Lent.

Hi Kindy,
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful prayer tables and RE displays in your classrooms! Your purple cloths look wonderful and immediately told me it was the season of Lent. Thank you for thinking about all the poor people living in God's world and generously donating money to your Project Compassion Boxes. The KB class in 2010 actually collected the most items for our St Vincent De Paul Christmas hampers, showing their kindness and love. Goodluck with your Lenten Water Works Project in 2011!
